Anybody out there have a tattoo on the inner side of their foot?

I know the top of the foot is very painful, but I intend on getting one on the inner side. How is the healing process in this area? Does it hurt to wear shoes?

Thanksss :):)

I had one. It's almost gone now and its only been 5 years. They are not considered permanent tattoos. The side of the foot and the bottom of the foot they come out. The skin sheds a lot there all the time which makes the tattoo look like crud within a few months to a year. Also there is always something rubbing there (socks, shoes, carpet etc). It was somewhat painful and it tickled a lot. Also it was awkward to walk for a few days and it got somewhat infected. You get a lot of dirty and bacteria in the foot. Also the tattoo is kept in a dark area ( due to shoes and socks) and the feet sweat more then you even realize so they sweat gets into it. It did hurt to wear shoes, and it hurt to walk. You need to take extra good care of it. Again mine is nearly completely faded. 5 years later that is all. I suggest the top of the foot. Sure they fade faster then other areas but at least it will remain in your skin.

For my first tattoo I started out wanting something on the outside or inside of my foot. My tattoo artist advised me against it because it will fade so quickly. I would do the top of your foot, and as far as that goes, it hurts about as bad as any tattoo. After 4 tattoos I've come to the conclusion that the amount of time it takes outweighs the placement. I say for a 6 hour session on my back, and still had to come back for another 2 1/2 hours. THAT was hell, but I was determined. You'll be ok!
