Hello? No one has mentioned anything about the 70th anniversary?

of the attack on Pearl Harbor? This was a time in History we should never forget and it saddens me that not very much is mentioned about it.

I remember (I'm the history nerd that knows all these dates) Cannot believe it is the 70th anniversary, wow 30 more years and then the 100th

I agree, society today is just so much more involved in their selves or stupid reality shows that they forget the important things that make America, America.

Imagine, will this happen to 9/11 when it reaches it's 70th anniversary. I certainly hope not!

I remember this date each year since I lived in the Philippines in 1978 and studied the local WWII history. In fact, that is probably where I got my love of history. My degree is in WWII P & E theaters.

Thanks for remembering with me. (A little better tact, though, would help honor the dead).

Think of the lesson learned from "September 11th." We didn't learn that Western Culture was being sent a message that our "business/practical" attitude is not shared across the World, that we lack traditions, and that we lack respect by *immediately* referring the 21st Century "Day of Infamy" as "9/11" because the media and newspapers save space and money by short-cutting it.

If you think that isn't true:

    Merry 12/25 & Happy 1/1, btw.

Many people have mentioned it. My history teacher did, my principal did, and a number of TV shows and programs did. History Channel had a few pearl harbor movies on yesterday as well as a tribute one today.
