Will/should St Louis fans hate Albert Pujols the same way Lebron James is hated by the Cavs fans?
Like im not a fan of either of the teams and I hate Lebron but what Pujols did does not really change my opinion of him.

No they shouldn't. While I did lose some respect for Pujols for chasing the money, what Lebron did is much worse. After guaranteeing his fans an NBA title, he purposely threw the last playoff series of his Cleveland career (I don't care what your defense is for him - it is 100% fact that he up and gave up), hinted and teased his hometown fans about promises of staying, bought a full hour time slot on ESPN to announce his "Decision," and promptly left Cleveland for a pay cut to play for Miami, trying to get an easy NBA title, which was then followed by another guarantee to the fans of Miami, that being a promise of 8 NBA titles, which he has so far and will continue to fail to deliver upon. What Lebron did is unforgivable in sports, especially here in Cleveland. What Pujols did wasn't cool either, but Pujols was just straight up greed while Lebron aimed to cause as much pain to his hometown fans as possible. Lebron is a grade A a$$hole, Pujols is just greedy

The thing is Pujols didn't do all of this like LeBron did. LeBron made people wait over an hour on television and did a special on just him whether he was gonna leave or not. So he randomly just chooses the Heat and backstabs all of the Cavs fans. The way he did it wasn't right.
Pujols is ok though, the highest bidder for him got him. The Angels were smart in getting him and Wilson. They are gonna have a great year next year. Also, I'm sure a lot of Cardinals fans will still like him because he just recently brought home a championship for them to go along with a 2006 championship. Plus, they'll still have a good team. I've always loved Albert Pujols as a player and a humanitarian. He's a great person. My opinions on him don't change.

I have yet to do, nor do I plan on being mad at Pujols. Am I extremely disappointed? Absolutely. However, I'm not mad at the Cardinals organization for not offering $250M and handcuffing the team for the next decade, nor am I going to be mad at him for taking an extra $30M to play for LA. It's the unfortunate side of sports, and I was 90% sure he'd stay in STL after we won the World Series. The Cards will be a good team with or without him, and we'll still sell out Busch Stadium.
I've been saying it all day: we'll see Pujols in Cardinals gear again, when he's inducted into the Hall of Fame.

I really hope Cardinals fans aren't as stupid as Cavs fans were. I'm not happy to see Pujols go but it is a business. The only part of this I hold against him is he said it wasn't about the money, when it clearly was just about the money. But the Cardinals would have traded him in a heartbeat if it helped the team out.

I still remember the day Carl Yazstremski retired, I only say this to make a point, bear with me on this. The headline said "Last of the bread". They were tooting that Carl would be in most likelihood the last great player drafted and to play his entire team with one organization. We can look back now and lol.
Do you remember as Glavine approached 300 they announce he would be the lat 300 game winning do to the changes to pitching 5 man rotation lol.Albert gave his all for 11 years he is human he took what he thought best for himself. He did slam the team he praised the Cards. Who knows the reasons he didn't stay sure it not only money. Albert been a class act all the way. He will be so missed in St. Louis but now there is another league that gets to enjoy his talents. Cards will rebound they always do. As one said they are bigger then the player. Best of luck to Albert hope you find what Griffey didn't when he left home. Nay you come back and grace us with your presence .

Ya know, at first I did kinda hate him, but then I thought of what he did for us as well as realizing that in a way its the Angels I should hate just cuz I mean they have Mark Trumbo, why did they go after Pujols??? In a way they're assholes for that, I mean the Albert sweepstakes was none of their business and they unneccesarily entered it...

No. LeBron did nothing for Cleveland. Pujols won St.Louis two titles. That's very different.

you would think the face of the ball club and fan base would stay because he helped win 2 WS Tiles and could have a shot at a repeat. but yeah they cards will lose a ton of fan base.

We have class. There will be no major riots. No cars flipped or jerseys burned. Just a feeling of betrayal but also knowing that a team is bigger than one player.
