question about USAF SSgt pay?

Ok my hubby is going to be putting his stripe on in probably April or May of next year and we want to plan to save some and pay off some bills but I'm not for sure how much he will be getting after he ranks up and he doesn't want to ask anyone else he knows. We are living in base housing so we don't get the BAH and we have no children. Does anyone know about how much it will be that he will be getting?? He really wants to save up for a new truck!

Update:

yea I've heard some housing sucks...ours is AMAZING..i love it..The houses are only a few years old and the landscaping and community is outstanding!! I'm nervous about moving to another base and getting sucky housing.

Update 2:

and he will be in for 6yrs next July and re-enlisted for another 4

It doesn't what matter your branch is, your pay depends on your rank and years of service. Since your hubby is going to be a SSgt (E-5), he will be getting:

2012 Pay Scale, Years of service SSgt (E-5):

    2 or less: $2124 a month

    Over 2 years: $2266 a month

    Over 3 years: $2375 a month

    Over 4 years: $2487 a month

    Over 6 years: $2662 a month

    Over 8 years: $2845 a month

    Over 10 years: $2994 a month

    Over 12: $3013 a month

    14: $3013 a month

    16: $3013 a month

    18: $3013 a month

    20: $3013 a month

    22: Same

    24: Same

    26: Same

    28: Same

    30: Same

    32: Same

    36: Same

    38: Same

Then finally, over 40 years of service of SSgt (E-5): $3013 a month

Source(s): Trust me, it is true.

If he has from 4 to 6 years of service - he will make $217 more a month, before tax's, so about $180 a month after tax's

if he has over 6 years of service, then he will make $294 more a month before tax's.

it all depends on how long hes been in it ranges from 2124.00 to 3013.00 google military pay charts to se the exact pay hes going to be getting. i would suggest moving off post cuz post housing usually sucks.
