Did you see this story - Dog saves Kittens?

Just saw this on the news:

This is another example of human cruelty to the worst degree - to hurt helpless animals who we have made dependent us on to live. Bad enough when done to other humans - we have some really cruel people in this world.

A yellow lab found a taped up cat food bag on a busy highway. She dragged it home and worried owners until they decided to check - and heard sounds coming from the bag. When opened, they found 2 live kittens and the remains of what appeared to be 2 - 3 more - the bad had been run over in traffic.

Ignorant, ill-responsible adults left these kittens in this sealed bag on the highway, knowing they would be run over - probably hoping so. Why not just take these unwanted kittens to an animal shelter if you could not find homes - where they would be humanely euthanized rather than experience this cruelty. Chances are these people still have the mother and have not had her spayed either.

Many people foolishly think if they leave animals other places that someone will take them in but that does not usually happen - more often they are killed, starve to death, and worse. And, most times, these pets will stay in the same area where they are left -- waiting for the owners to come back.

Perhaps it is too bad that people who commit these acts, and other cruelties, cannot be sentenced to be treated the way they treated their victims.

So sad, and tearful. BUT, the kittens were taken to animal shelter, cared for and treated, and now they are ready to be adopted. News showed them - - really cute, lively and alert - - regular All-American tabbies.

Update:

Does not matter whether an adult or young person - - act is still horrible and it means someone has some serious problems - - could be a neighbor next door to any of us who do these kinds of hideous things. Parents of kids who deny their kids would not do something like this are ignorant and ill-responsble and should be held responsible for their kids' behavior - but many deny and some of these young people starting out doing things at early ages tend to grow into adults who progress to even worse actions. To me, the persons who did this are dangerous to all of us.

I saw that yesterday. There are videos online which you will find if you Google "Reagan Lab save kittens" or similar.

Heart-breaking story. Ironic it takes a dog to teach a lesson in humanity.

How`d you know they were adults? Foolish Kids do stuff like that, too. My Pomeranians saved a Kitten, once, I was waiting for the road to be free of Cars so that I could cross, my Poms were behind me. Suddenly I see this puny Kitten watching me, he bounds up to to say hello (Not seeing the Dogs behind me), there were Cars zooming past, the Kit was just about to cross when Charlie walked out from his ``hiding spot`` the Kit stopped in it`s tracks, and ran back to the safety of the grass, just then it`s owners called it in. EDIT: I didn`t mean that foolish Kids were allowed to do that (By their parents), I was just saying that Kids do that too, but it`s still wrong. My mom once found Kits with rubber bands tightly around their necks.

Source(s): A true story. Also I hate Animal abuse and those fools who do it, like Charlie`s original owner`s boyfriend.

Just unbelievable! I cannot understand how 'humans' can be so cruel to such innocent little creatures:( Thank God for the dog.

Yes, they probably have the mother and are too ignorant to have her spayed and the cycle will go on. This is really sad and sick:(:( Poor little kitties....

Wow! It's amazing considering that most dogs hate cats with a serious passion! So, not only brave of him, but also very compassionate of him! We need more stuff like this in the news. FAR more of it! Let us see the positive that goes on as well to give us reason to believe that positive stuff is still happening in the admist of the constant bs as of late...... Thanks for posting this! ;)

Yes, I have just seen it.

And, there's nothing more to add because you said it all.

I own several cats and a dog, and cruelty to animals is among the top sins in my lexicon of crimes.

Agree with your opinion. Animals need more love from humans. They are more humane than human beings.
