It might mean they're going to ban teammates hitting teammates.

Crosby does not have a concussion. He passed his imPACT test and said it's an "encouraging" result. He is just banged up and feels like he's suffering some concussion-like symptoms, but said he's feeling "not bad."

"Penguins captain Sidney Crosby said that he’s experienced concussion-like symptoms the past few days after taking several hits against the Boston Bruins last Monday and is being careful about his health before returning to the lineup."

In all honesty I think Crosby is just hurting physically and is most likely having headaches - the same problem which slowed his progress earlier this year. He is going to take his time off to recover and he'll be back. I'm not worried about him and neither should anyone else. The Penguins have proven they do just fine without him as well as their other top stars.

Why would they ban hitting? If you remember correctly the guy who hit Crosby wasn't even suspended and it was way worse than a lot of hits that guys were suspended for.

Anyway, I'm not surprised that he's out again, I think there's a serious risk that he retires soon.

No. They're have been tons of players who have had concussion problems their whole career. Just because Crosby's having them, doesn't mean they're gonna ban it just for him.

It won't ban hitting, but slowly, the league might ease towards being a little more cautious.

No. But in all sincerity I do feel bad for the Penguins fans. I can't imagine Datsyuk being out for that long with something that serious and fans laughing about it or rubbing it in. Pens fans you still got Neal who's been a beast lately, Malkin, Fleury, so hopefully it won't be too bad.

  • Oh man that poor kid... does the nhl ban hitting? does the name eric lindros ring a bell? (no pun intended)

  • That's what happens when you return too early and one little hit puts you out again.

    poor guy

as long as they don't ban hooking and tripping as well, banning hitting doesn't concern me.
