Thought experiment on "discovering" God?

Let's say that, for some inexplicable reason, you and everyone around you have no memory or knowledge of God. Do you think you would come back to the religion you currently practice? Why or why not?

    Let's say [impossible situation] involving [nearly impossible situation.]

    Now, answer with a definitive if this situation would have the exact same outcome.

    Just calling it a "thought experiment" doesn't make it so.

    Well, that depends. From what I can gather, in the earlier times before the Bible was written, there was much more "direct" (for lack of a better word) contact between God and humans, probably in order to create the Bible and a strong faith. You cannot believe in something you don't know of, so only if God chose to reveal himself to us, would we be able to believe

    I have memory of believing in god, but I have no knowledge he has come. It's never been proven. So, I would stay an atheist.
