Positive ana test, but neg. Double stranded DNA?
I had a positive ana test, but neg Double stranded Dna test.My doctor supsect (SLE) Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) I have alot of joint pain, ulcers, sometimes it is hard to breath like something/ some one sitting on my chest at times, and no engery!. I am still waiting for my appointment with the speacilist..!! My doctor believes I have signs of lupus, but they are not able to say for sure with out seeing the speacilist 1st.! What other test should I expect for lupus???

I have been through this myself and i was negative for everything. I had a false positive ana. The rheumatologist will probably run another ana to make sure it wasnt a false positive and they will run more sensitive blood tests to rule out any other diseases/illnesses including lupus. They usually have to be sent to the mayo clinic so you may have to wait about a week for the results...... Good Luck
