An even integer has the form 2x.
Three consecutive even integers would be 2x, 2x+2, and 2x+4.
Adding the first even integer to the third gives you
2x + (2x+4)
or
4x+4 where x is any integer (this is the answer)
For example, if x=1
then you have the consecutive even integers 2, 4, and 6
2 + 6 = 8
4x + 4 = 4*1 + 4 = 8
