i bought a acura for a 1000$ it seem to have a shift probelm it sifhts ok but when it goes to the last gear the rpm shoots up than it will shift let say im going about 30mph and if i hit the gas hard it will rev and not go any where if i mauling do it it wont rev but i can hold the gas to the floor and take off fast it wont do it it changes fine but if i go slow it will rev than shift to the last gear do i need a new tranny or something else i was gona get the tranny rebuilt if thats the problme i tried to ajust the dtent cable to

Classic transmission slippage...you can try switching out the tranny fluid, but you may be too far gone now for that to solve the problem 100%.  It won't hurt anything to try the fluid chance except maybe a few bucks out of your wallet, so i'd probably go for that first and foremost.

if its a manual the clutch is slipping and will need a new one
