Did Magnum, PI wear shorts?

And if so, what kind of shorts did he wear? I'm going to an 80s Christmas party and kinda need to know of Selleck wore shorts or pants.

Most of the time he wore pants, usually jeans or white khakis. He occasionally wore shorts and they were really short shorts. I don't know what the shorts are called but here is an image of the kind of shorts he wore....
