Why you guys don't like reading shojo manga?
there are plenty of girls who read shonen and seinen manga, but very few boys who like shojo and josei manga.. lol I wonder why, I guess they think its boring? I've seen some shojos with great storylines though..
So, have you boys ever read any shojo manga before?

you wonder why?? you're joking right? ...right?? lemme explain then:
first and foremost- whinny, annoying female leads.
phrases that drive me insane and can(will) be seen in 99.9% of the shoujo genre:
"just wait. i'll make you fall in love with me." -haha, try me.
"see, yuki is a bit clumsy tee-hee" -speaking about ones self in third person, and calling ones self retarded? yeaah, totally attractive.
"i loved him longer, so you have no right to have him" -typical ex-girlfriend rampage.
and so on.
the ridiculous intro 99 in 100 shoujo manga have:
"my name is blahPrincesslindablah and I'm looking for a boyfriend in my first year in high schoolblah"
how they fall for the hottest, coolest guy in school(whose true personality is mean, demeaning/whatever) and he magically starts liking them at some point.(*badumbadum* oh noes, what's this feeling in my chest? when she touched my hand i just...*snorts* yeah right, angina much) and then the girl shoves away her best friend(who has liked her the whole time...preferably 5-10 years. childhood friends are even better, yo)
attention, attention to all- when the story runs out of love drama(of the girl saying i hate you to the douche she ohmglovesofc for example), a kidnapping will ensue.
and i haven't even started yet. look, i could tell exactly what everyone in said manga's saying, even if it was raw(not translated in english, still in kanji) - that's how predictable it is.
what's to like about all the above is the real question you should be asking. might i remind you that girls have moved onto greener(and healthier, unless it's yaoi lol then it's most definitely an addiction) pastures such as seinen(and even shounen) for a reason. there are but a few non-cringe inducing shoujo manga out there, and the majority of this genre's audience are tween/teen girls, who usually abandon it around the age of 14. maybe(rarely) some boys too. but eventually, they also give it up.

I know plenty of guys that read josei series. Veeeeeeeery few that read shoujo. Even I get irritated at shoujo manga a lot. "oh no, pretty girl suddenly has 2 boys fawning over her." And she's usually a weak person; like the 'bad' guy can just pin her against the wall so easily and plant a kiss on her. Which they usually do. Unfortunately, majority of shoujo manga is stereotypically made like that. Of course there are really good ones but guys don't have the tolerance to sift through "kawaii uguu~ my heart goes doki doki" manga to get to the good stuff. So hence why they just read shounen and seinen most of the time because that's guaranteed to be 95% more up their ally.
