Jehovah's Witnesses ?

Do we have life by the name of Jesus or by the name of Jehovah?

John 20: 31, "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."

1 John 5:13, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

Update:

Vegga--Read Romans 10:13 In context

It is clearly referring to the Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 10:9-13, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Jesus taught his disciples to pray: “Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.” Our heavenly Father, whose name is Jehovah, is described in the Bible as being superior to his Son. For example, Jehovah is “from everlasting to everlasting.” But the Bible says that Jesus is “the firstborn of every creature.” That Jehovah is greater than Jesus, Jesus himself taught when he said: “My Father is greater than I.” (Matthew 6:9; Psalm 90:1, 2; Colossians 1:15; John 14:28, King James Version) Yet, the Trinity doctrine holds that the Father and the Son are “equally God.”

The Father’s superiority over the Son, as well as the fact that the Father is a separate person, is highlighted also in the prayers of Jesus, such as the one before his execution: “Father, if you wish, remove this cup [that is, an ignominious death] from me. Nevertheless, let, not my will, but yours take place.” (Luke 22:42) If God and Jesus are “one in essence,” as the Trinity doctrine says, how could Jesus’ will, or wish, seem different from that of his Father?—Hebrews 5:7, 8; 9:24.

Furthermore, if Jehovah and Jesus were the same, how could one of them be aware of things of which the other was not? Jesus, for instance, said regarding the time of the world’s judgment: “Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father.”—Mark 13:32.

The Trinity is not a teaching of Jesus or of the early Christians. As noted previously, it is “a teaching of the church.” In its 1999 issue on the Trinity, The Living Pulpit observed: “Sometimes, it seems that everyone assumes that the doctrine of the trinity is standard Christian theological fare,” but it added that it is not “a biblical idea.”

The New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967) discusses the Trinity at length and admits: “The Trinitarian dogma is in the last analysis a late 4th-century invention. . . . The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century.”

Martin Werner, as professor at the University of Bern, Switzerland, observed: “Wherever in the New Testament the relationship of Jesus to God, the Father, is brought into consideration, whether with reference to his appearance as a man or to his Messianic status, it is conceived of and represented categorically as subordination.” Clearly, what Jesus and the early Christians believed is far different from the Trinity teaching of churches today. From where, then, did this teaching come?

Oh Boy! Tell me, who is the Creator and allowed for there to be life on the earth in the first place? Jehovah. And... who provided the ransom sacrifice so that we may have a chance to be saved and have life? Jehovah. Who came to earth to fulfill Jehovah's purpose to vindicate his sovereignty, glorify his name, respond to Satan's challenge, and to free mankind of sin and death? Jesus. So Jehovah is the one who will ultimately give us life, but only if we have faith in the ransom sacrifice and recognize Jesus Christ as the one who died for our sins and the one designated by Jehovah as the mediator.

The first thing you need to do Steinbeck, is understand the foolishness of the trinity belief. Then, you will understand the true role of the mediator, Christ Jesus.

Without the ransom sacrifice, there is no hope of humans approaching and being reconciled with the Almighty God, Jehovah. Christ Jesus is the mediator and our Lord and Savior. And because of his loyalty and being the firstborn of all creation, Jehovah God "exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every [other] name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11)

Those who keep saying that JWs are not Christians are blinded by Satan. It's an accusation that has NO BASIS and that can easily be PROVEN WRONG.

You do believe the following don't you?

1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

Now examine those verses you presented closer:

John 20: 31, "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God [the mediator between God and man]; and that believing ye might have life through his name [as that mediator]."

This is referring to Jesus as our high priest who pleads with God for us.

The same of course is true at 1 John 5:13.

Jehovah God the Father is the one who created the Christ, and, later transferring his life to the womb of the virgin Jewess, and protecting him growing up, then supplying him the wisdom & strength with which to resist Satan's temptations. So . . . without Jehovah the Father, Christ could not have done what he did for us. We all owe our lives to Jehovah God, but we also all owe the redemption of the right of the faithful to have perfect life again, to Christ.

Have you ever considered the fact that the Scriptures point out that Jesus Christ is the *foremost witness* of Jehovah God the Father . . . and that his followers must likewise be Jehovah's Witnesses?

    Please, notice:

"Look! *As a witness* to the national groups I have given him,

as a leader and commander to the national groups."---Isaiah 55:4

". . . For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, *that I should bear witness to the truth.* Everyone that is on the side of the truth listens to my voice.”---John 18:37b

    "Jesus Christ, *the Faithful Witness,*

'The 'firstborn from the dead,' and

'The 'Ruler of the kings of the earth'. . ."---Revelation 1:5

Christ was born a member of the nation that Jehovah God had told:

"You are my Witnesses", is the utterance of Jehovah, ". . . that I am God".---Isaiah 43:10-12

And, Christ told his footstep followers:

". . . You, in turn, are to *bear witness,*

because You have been with me from when I began."---John 15:27

"Righteous Father, the world has, indeed, not come to know you; but I have come to know you, and these have come to know that you sent me forth.  And *I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them*.”---John 17:25-26

". . . These are the things that the Amen says, *the faithful and true witness*,

the beginning of the creation by God."---Revelation 3:14b

Therefore, we are the Christian Witnesses of Jehovah God Almighty,

    following in Christ's footsteps.

You have acknowledge Jesus in order toapproach Jehovah and to get life is a free gift from Jehovah.

Most are misinformed about JW we believe in Jesus.

    ** it-2 p. 249 Life ***

Since “there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved,” the seeker for life must follow Christ. (Ac 4:12) Jesus showed that a person must be conscious of his spiritual need; he must hunger and thirst for righteousness. (Mt 5:3, 6) Not only must he hear the good news but he must exercise faith in Jesus Christ and through him call on the name of Jehovah. (Ro 10:13-15) Following Jesus’ example, he will be baptized in water. (Mt 3:13-15; Eph 4:5) He must then keep on seeking the Kingdom and Jehovah’s righteousness.—Mt 6:33.

Didn't Jesus say all authority was given to him? By whom was authority given to Jesus? Meaning?

  • Jehovah is another name for Jesus. Just like Yahweh is a personal name for God.

Jehovah Witnesses have the false belief that Jesus Christ is the arch angel Michael making him separate from Jehovah.

They also have a private translation of the bible which has forced false translations which doesn't help
