Why is president Obama adding $4 million to our debt for his vacation to Hawaii?

First, I think that $4 Million is actually terribly under quoted. The last trip he took was "estimated" at 1 Million, but a local reporter did some math work and went over some records.....you need to add the cost of flying both Obama and Michelle (separate flights), along with additional planeloads of security and support. You need to house all of those people. Also add in the expense to local police and government agencies who must also supply security, closed of whole sections of town and roads, etc......

Since Air Force One reportedly cost $56,800 per hour to operate in 2004 , and the plane can travel up to 630 miles per hour, it cost at least $435,917 to get the 4,835 miles to Hawaii one-way. Each time Obama goes it would cost $871,828. Since Michelle likes to take separate flights you can double that. They did a special on Air Force One and the president's trips.....add the cost of additional jets flying cover, and a backup plan.

This vacation is expected to last 17 days, longer then his previous vacation.

How many teachers, fireman and police officers can we hire with $4 million dollars?

And to the crybaby libs point at Bush's vacations......note that nearly all of his vacations were spent either at Camp David, or at his Texas Ranch. Both locations are already heavily protected with security and communications, so the cost is minimal.

Cost to go to Camp David....a short helicopter flight. How much would that cost? So please don't even TRY to compare Obama's trips to Bush's, there simply is no comparison to the money being wasted.

The President likes to live lavishly; he's spending 4 million on Christmas Vacation. He and the next 5 presidents should be eating Top Ramen, and driving Geo Metros to work.

This is a bit ridicules.... Ive been on vacation and it sure as hell doesn't cost $4 million. Sure, he may need a vacation and may even deserve it, but come on you get paid to be president, you shouldn't get to take money from the people to pay for your vacations.
