samsung tv, problem and cost to fix?

my tv stopped working, I hit power and it goes tick, tick, tick but does not light up, no menu, no sound, nothing but a black, ticking screen. What is broken and what would repairs cost?

seems like old lcd capacitor issue. Contact Samsung chat support. They are available 24/7 and 365 days.

Sounds like the very common Samsung capacitor failure. Samsung is still replacing the power board even on out of warranty tvs. Get the serial number off the side of the tv. Call Samsung CS and describe the problems and tell them you think it's failing capacitors. If your serial number is on their list of affected tvs, they will send a repair person to your house, for free, and it will be fixed.

A ticking noise usually indicates a power supply problem which could be the power supply or something loading it down so it won't start. Only a TV tech would be able to give you an estimate after seeing it.

    Get your telephone directory out.

Look in the Yellow Pages under "TV Repair".

Call each entry that you find & ask each one your question.

Now, since none of them could answer your question without actually examining the unit, what makes you believe that anyone else could supply you with a useful answer?
