Should one be allowed to wish others a Merry Christmas in America?
And would it offend others by wishing someone else a Merry Christmas?
Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Doesn't violate any laws. Knock yourself out.
This question has been repeated a ton of times and doesn't have much substance to it in the first place.

One SHOULD be and IS allowed to say Merry Christmas in America!
No one is banning the prhase "Merry Christmas;" It's just that more people are moving to the more inclusive greeting of "Happy Holidays" for this season in this diverse nation.
People are not offended by Merry Christmas.
Except when it's accompanied by telling someone else what to say, or when it's said as a challenge (Merry Christmas-- that's right, whatcha gonna do?)
Would it really offend you for someone to say Happy Holidays to you?
Thank you, Merry Christmas to you (now that I know what you celebrate).
And Happy Holidays to all (for those I don't know-- including myself, who does not celebrate Christmas and has been saying Happy Holidays since the 1970s).
Lets all lighten up and let people say what they want..

There is no war on Christmas in America besides the one that exists only in the minds of the religious. They seem quite keen to present themselves as martyrs and this fits right in with that.
As an atheist, I couldnt care less what phrase you use. You have the freedom of speech and the freedom of religion. By all means use them. As long as you dont criticize me if I say happy holidays or merry winter solstice then we're cool.

I happen to be a Christian so it doesn't offend me. But if I wish a Jew a Merry Christmas, they can't take my salutation to a good place because they celebrate Hanukkah. That is why whenever I meet a stranger, I always say Happy Holidays so I don't offend them.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
It's mostly nostalgia to me, really.
I'm making cookies and a pie today.

Of course we should be able to, its called freedom of speech.
The government on the other hand have other ideas and are banning the use of the word and decorations...Other places now opt for "Happy Holidays.." I think that this is ridiculous.

Of course you can. I say "Have a good Yuletide" to people and that doesn't seem to be offensive.
