Is Ron Paul a racist?

No. I can't say my opinion is "objective" because I really do like the guy but the evidence over his entire life's work, writings and actions would suggest that he is anything but racist. He routinely gave free medical care to poor and minorities who couldn't afford it, he lists Rosa Parks and MLK as personal heroes, he has often argued that the criminal justice system tends to be biased towards prosecuting minorities for non violent drug "crimes" and capital punishment and he seeks to get rid of both the drug war and capital punishment. The reality is that there are some racist people who do support him but that should not be surprising considering he is an advocate of liberty that allows people the freedom even to hate.

I don't think he's racist personally, but his brand of libertarianism takes a very soft stance on that issue and is unwilling to take action against racism.

You should probably do your own research to make the decision since Ron refuses to comment on it. Here is a link to some of his writings:

He has always been a nut case, but recently he toned down his rhetoric, and so he is getting more attention. This guy is to unstable to be a national candidate.

He's not remotely, but it is an easy way to write him off.
