EBC... Do not re-fit original shim and insulator?
Whats the deal with that? Ive ran EBC's for quite a while and haven't noticed that sticker until tonight. It states "do not re-fit original shim and insulator" Does anyone know the reason behind this? They are there to reduce heat transfer to the caliper but I'm wondering if it makes EBC's pads get too hot and warp or something??? Anyone know the answer to this? Its for a KTM 250 XC, not that it should matter....

Why not email the pad manufacturer for the answer; after all, they have given that advise. I am wondering if those pads are thicker than the originals so the shim and insulator need to be removed to allow the pads to fit.....

I noticed on my Honda CR500 that the EBC's pad frame is thicker than the stock pad frame. I do not know if it has anything to do with heat dissipation, I think it just has to do with the diameter of the entire pad.
