  • best "all-mountain" bike under or around $2500?

I'm getting my first full suspension All Mountain bike and i want to do it right the first time. I've been looking into Santa Cruz, Specialized, Giant, Scott, and Cannondale so far... I will do a lot of technical climbs but i would like a bike that can take on rough rocky declines as well. I live in the Pacific NW. Very wet, rocky, rooty, and steep hills. I'm a very experienced dirt biker so i understand the importance of quality parts i.e. suspension, components, frame, wheels, tires etc... I just don't know where to start in the MTB world as its very overwhelming! thanks for any help!

  • possibly bought a stolen motorcycle?

So heres the deal, i purchased a dirt bike from a kid couple hours away a few months ago. In his craigslist add he stated that it was a 2001 kx100 for $400 and it needed a new top end and parts were in boxes. I figured hey I'm fairly mechanically inclined and it would be a good bike for the girlfriend so i went down to check it out and sure enough, all the parts were in boxes. So i bought it from him for $300 went home and a few months later fixed her all up and realized this is totally not a 2001. So i ran the VIN on a website and it happens to be a 2007 kx 100. I only got a bill of sale with it and his name doesn't exist, I wrote down his cell phone number on the bill of sale and tried calling him recently but it has been disconnected. Anyways, I feel guilty knowing this could have potentially been some kids bike but i really don't want to lose out on all I've put into it. How can i figure out if it truly was stolen without contacting the police? I know that sounds bad...

  • Wrote down the time for my interview and lost it!?

So I've already had an interview for a very good job opening and the next day they called me to come back in for a second interview... Well i wrote the time down and remember the day but the sticky note i stuck to my fridge is no longer there! Would it be tacky for me to call and tell them about my situation and see what time my interview is? Or should i have a fellow "yahoo answerer" give me a good professional excuse. This is totally not like me and quite frankly its embarrassing. Thanks for the help

  • my dog has salmon poisoning?

So my dog is very phycically fit, he is half german shepard and half ausi shepard. and is ten years old. We lost our weiner dog about a week ago due to coyotes. We thought our other dog (jasper) was just depressed and not eating because of it. So we tried to give him treats and a lot of extra attention but he never really ate or did anything he normaly does. A WEEK LATER We then decided to take him to the vet to see if there was a cure to his depression. Come to find out, he has salmon poisoning. He has been dependant on an IV for 3 days now and still wont eat anything we put in front of him. Are his chances of survival slim at this point?

This is all that we have tried:

k9 i/d gastrointestinal health wet food, dry food, treats, meat, peanut butter, heavy antibiotics from our vet. He is now at the vet on an IV for the third time.

  • Best way to get a Cougar without dogs?

We've been having a little problem with cougars hangin out around our property at times and have had one horse killed down our road already and a neighbors dog was shredded in their yard a few weeks ago. Many neighbors have seen this cat walking in our field in broad daylight but i can't seem to find it. Our wiener dog is now missing and my German Shepard was out with him that afternoon and came back shaken up pretty bad. Won't even go outside our house anymore, its strange. Although i think its coyote's ( i can take care of them ) my neighbors all want this cougar away from our homes. Agree or disagree, I plan to shoot it. Hunting cougars with dogs is illegal in oregon and oregon fish&game can't do anything about it. Any tips or advice on how to find this kitty without the hounds would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Hobart handler 115V welding question...?

I purchased a hobart handler 125 and i'm wanting to build an ATV Trailer. I just ordered the gas regulator and will be running 75%Argon25%Co2 mix.I know it says it will do up to 1/4" thick but will it actually penetrate GOOD on 3/16"thick square tube? Obviously i don't want my trailer falling apart on the freeway with 15 grand worth of toys on it. I can lay decent welds but I'm still learning the rope's. I can't afford a 220V welder at the moment and don't have an outlet available yet either. Thanks for the help!

  • Searching for a Durable DSLR camera?

I'm looking into doing extreme sports photography. Mainly Dirt biking in a wet rocky bumpy climate, snowboarding, mountain biking, rafting, bmx, and surfing shots. I'd like a camera that takes high quality pictures and can handle the elements and being shaken around in a backpack while I'm dirt biking or mountain biking. I'm not looking to spend much more than 1500 and I will be purchasing a waterproof protective housing for whatever i get. I'm mostly just concerned with the internal components rattling loose or breaking. Also, maybe you guys have idea's for a good waterproof backpack for this??? I'm not very familiar with different camera's and whats important and whats not so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

  • 1994 Polaris Indy 500 EFI?

So i just traded a guy a $350 set of rims for his snowmobile tonight. Its a SUPER Clean 94 Indy 500 EFI and has 2k miles on it. He said it hasn't been ran for over a year but ran really good before he parked it. Again, It looks Great but hasn't been started in a while. What all should i do before taking it back out? I'm very familiar with dirt bikes and quads but I've never owned a snowmobile. Other then fresh gas, Air filter, spark plugs, and an oil change is there anything else i should inspect before taking it out? i don't have a service manual. Thanks for the tips! BTW there is no snowmobile category

  • cheap, reliable, handgun?

I'm looking to buy a pistol for personal defense but i don't know much about them. I'm a responsible hunter and own many rifles but never really thought about owning a handgun until lately when a co-worker was harassed by several gang members while driving to work. I live in the country and our property butts up to public land, which brings many different sorts of scumbags up and down our road looking for stuff to steal and houses to break into.

I would like something to defend myself if the sh!t really hit the fan. I'm interested in something that is relatively cheap, i can attach a flashlight and/or a laser pointer to, something that ammo isn't outrageously expensive, and most of all it is reliable. Preferably something with a clip, not a revolver. what brand and caliber would you guys recommend?

  • EBC... Do not re-fit original shim and insulator?

Whats the deal with that? Ive ran EBC's for quite a while and haven't noticed that sticker until tonight. It states "do not re-fit original shim and insulator" Does anyone know the reason behind this? They are there to reduce heat transfer to the caliper but I'm wondering if it makes EBC's pads get too hot and warp or something??? Anyone know the answer to this? Its for a KTM 250 XC, not that it should matter....

  • Rekluse EXP clutch in 250 XC... Opinions?

Few questions here... Does anyone Have any complaints or had any troubles with Rekluse? Im debating on purchasing their cheaper setup, the Rekluse EXP for my 2010 ktm 250 xc (2-stroke) it fits into the stock clutch basket rather than Rekluse's but I'm concerned my stock basket may not hold up as well. Although, I think KTM makes their baskets from steel, not aluminum?
