Metalheads: Metal of 2011?
I know that variations of this question have been asked a crapload of times already, but, hey, it doesn't hurt to ask again, lol.
As the year is drawing to an end, I made a video of my top 50 favourite metal albums of the year:

MQ: if you have time, what's your thoughts on my compilation?
MQ2: What is your favourite metal album of 2011?
MQ3: What's favourite debut album?
MQ4: Biggest dissapointment for an album?
MQ5: Any albums set for release next year that you're looking forward to? (for me, it's Epica's, Midnight Realm's, and Kalmah's)
Appetite for Destruction was released 1987, and Abrahadabra was 2010
@Peace Sells: Oh crap!!! I completely forgot about Fables Of The Sleepless Empire! It's such an amazing album, I can't believe I forgot to include it in my list.
and yeah, most of my choices are either melodeth or power metal, as those are my two favourite genres. There are quite a few thrash albums though in my list, more so than my list for most other years... but I guess the kind of thrash I like sounds a lot like some melodeath.
Also, I'll be honest, (I know someone's gonna want to crucify me for this) I kinda like Illud Divinum Insanus... and I've never liked old Morbid Angel.
No, I've never liked very many oldschool DM bands. The production's too raw for me, and I find the vocals sound grating to me. I refer a deep, powerful roar or growl for death metal, and bands like Morbid Angel have that weak, higher pitch, scratchy gargle.

Wow..I hardly know any of the albums in your list! But lots of albums in that list sound very much alike..quite natural since most of them (correct me if im wrong) are melodic death or power/symphonic metal related..im not a massive fan of these genres (not saying i dont love some bands of this style)..but hats off to you for having the patience to make a top 50 list..and that too for a year!..i dont think i've even listened to 15 albums from 2011 properly..let alone make a top 50 list :P
