It could be an auto-immune disease or virus. If you have a fever, call the doctor; he may want you to come back for more diagnostic tests.
Are you feeling tired/fatigued? Let your physician know all of your symptoms.

are the dots raised up and small, or flat and like capillary breaks in the skin
