Why does one gender point fingers at the other about some flaw, but seem completely oblivious to their gender?

To the times their own gender doing the exact same thing.

Because it's easier to see the flaws in others then in yourself. I'm the first and only girl in my circle of male friends that will be starkly honest about how fickle minded, jaded, stubborn and ridiculously emotional girls get. Sometimes it's best to roll with the punches and have a good laugh at yourself. Makes everybody's day go a lot easier. If you can be the better person by calling out and laughing about your own gender-specific faults, more people may be inclined to open up and confess to theirs!

    It's simple...

Because most of us are heterosexual, we tend to spend more quality time with the opposite sex and less with the same sex. More importantly, heterosexuals tend to be more emotionally involved with more members of the opposite sex.

I'm always amazed how much I know about women that many don't even know about themselves or about each other, flaws included.

I'm with Ryuk, I think you need a specific example.

But I will say, most people post questions about themselves or about their own experiences, so they are not talking on behalf of "all men" or "all women". They are talking about their own personal experience.
