If i quit smoking, will my singing voice improve?
I understand when some people say "the damage is done" but i've only been smoking properly for about a year and a half now, and i'm 16 years old.

YES!
Some people will tell you otherwise, but it's because they enjoy smoking themselves or aren't educated about the effects of smoking.
Smoking drys out your vocal cords. This leaves them more susceptible to damage as well.

Quit smoking and you will notice some improvement. Especially if you're singing towards the top of your range right around where you would cross over into a "falsetto" type voice. Also, stay away from alcohol as it will dry out your throat. Anything you drink while singing should be at room temperature. Also try warming up with some basic vocal exercises (like singing scales up an octave and then back down in 1/2 step increments) before letting everyone hear your wonderful voice. Stop smoking VERY soon and good luck to you!

Singing is something that everybody can learn and improve. Of course, some are more naturally skilled than others, but even a poor voice can be overcome by dedication, practice, and more practice. Even if you're content to sing in the shower, there are some things you can do to improve your voice. This is probably the best online course to improve your singing skills https://tr.im/jaSVf

Yep. The tar and toxins are in your bronchi and lungs. Air conducts the sound out of the larynx. If the air is dirty, which yours is, the sound will have a dirty effect to it, So the tonal quality will not have the clarity. The lungs will also lack the ability to expand and give you good air, so if you stop smoking the lungs will clear and your your lungs will expand to enable your notes to be a little longer or more sustained.
Stop now before you do any more damage.

When it comes to your health and your physical well being, you have great reasons to quit smoking already. The fact that smoking can cause a variety of harmful diseases to your body is no longer new to us. But just to remind you, smoking can definitely cause several types of cancers like lung cancer and cancer of the throat.

You will note a change and you will be able to hold a tune/ note longer because singing is mainly air control. It won't be a dramatic change, but noticeable.

I do not think your voice will improve, just your technique. Also, you won't have anymore damage done to your lungs, which will allow you to hold longer notes.
