That's a tough one. Uruguay is a great place if you want to go to South America, no crime, amazing beaches, and very cheap standard of living except for hotels, which you would have to avoid and buy your own lot (and build a house) or just buy a house completely.

India is extremely cheap but definitely not for everybody, and so are many places in Asia, though these are definitely better geared up for the Western ex-pat who wants to live for cheap.

Funny enough, I have read that the US is the best country to offer the best value for money, at least it was in 2011. Great value for money in terms of housing, food, clothing, electronics, not so good re: health and transportation. You need to decide what kind of a radical change you want and, if not, researching the US may be a better option. Europe is still extremely expensive, at least in terms of housing. Canada is so expensive (BC and Alberta in particular) I still can't understand why, unless one wants to be frozen or wet 24/7... (sorry, no offense meant)

Thailand is cheap and some of its beaches are great. The food is also great and cheap. The problem is that you have to leave the country every month if you are not a resident and, if you want to buy certain properties, you cannot do so unless you are Thai. So that's not so good, unless all you want to do is rent.

Belize I heard is also really good in terms of geographical beauty and price. Unfortunately I can't give you the specifics and I hope someone else can.
