Can someone advise me about Trojans?

I was on the net in an internet cafe. Had checked my email account and opened two emails from companies that I'd asked for quotes on something. Logged out of the account and was doing something else when I got a message saying the net cafe's firewall had detected a trojan. I have changed the password on the email account and also notified the owner of the net cafe, of course. Do I need to do anything else? The attachments I opened were just word docs, so I assume they didn't have the trojan attached to them.

Update:

I haven't got internet at home as can't afford all the bits and pieces needed atm. So really I would like to know, Can I open my email account safely on another computer and delete the two emails just in case?

    Trojans are seemingly safe files that are actually malicious - taken from the Trojan Horse in Greek history or mythology (I don;t know I;m not a humanitiesfag).

    Malicious code can be embedded in word documents;A word document can be a Trojan.

    Make sure you have anti virus software installed and scan things like email attachments before you open them.

    If you already have anti virus, get better anti virus.

    If you just opened word documents that is probably a false positive. Do have in mind though that macro-enabled word documents can be meany :-)

    You should be safe, however, it is a good idea to give your PC the once over. There are plenty of free stuff out there.

    you should be safe with word docs as they are not executable but if you want to be a little more sure just run a scan with your internet security.
