Can a for profit business collect money for a non-profit organization?

I am launching a product that will have the ability to raise money for non-profit organizations. The idea is that we have a service and people pay us for the service a donation amount that will go to the non-profit and we will take a % of those donations as our operating expenses. My question is that can users of our service pay us the total amount say $10 and have it deducted on their taxes as a charitable contribution to xyz charity and we in turn pay that charity $7,50? Can the payment flow through my business or does it have to be directly paid to the charity?

That's actually the way the vast majority of "charities" in the USA operate, which explains why only an average of 28 cents per dollar given to charities actually does anything "charitable"...

First, in simple terms remember to have the nonprofit's permission to solicit donations on its behalf. Does the right of the corporation study about your efforts? Then, bypass visit Lowe's *in-human being* and ask to talk to the government. also visit small agencies that are contained in the instantaneous neighbhorhood of the nonprofit, to be sure in the journey that they could be prepared to donate any used furniture. ensure the nonprofit's own internet website has suggestions on: -- what donations they favor -- how an organization might want to make arrangements to donate products on your organization -- no matter if volunteers out of your organization will %. up such donations, or if the donating corporation or man or woman has to make arrangements themselves

They get to deduct the whole $10. Unfortunately it's scams like yours that funds most charitys.

The buyer doesn't get a deduction for their purchase. They're buying a service from you,not making a donation to the charity.

Even if they paid the charity direct, they couldn't deduct the full amount, only the amount if any that was over the fair market value of the service.
