Update:

windows xp I dont have the sigma tell drivers I have a sound blaster x-fi card

thought it is a dell oem xps400

from what I am told by the evenbalance team the problem seems to be a kernal monitor

there are very few software processes I can still disable above? most are system process's

I have disabled and turn off 228 CTDVDDET.EXE which is a process for reading and writing to dvd cd's which isnt needed running cod 4

was hoping to find out if possable what this is trying to do.

    Aaah... Windows Vista?

    iw3mp.exe is causing the problem.

    Solution:

Uninstall your sound card from the Windows Device Manager, but DO NOT remove the drivers.

Reboot your system. Vista will detect your sound card and install it.
