I left before my two weeks notice was up?

Okay...so I worked a night shift job, and (this and the new one are both entry level) ...

Last week I had the first interview for a job as a maid at a hotel. The woman interviewing really liked me, and told me that there was a higher up (and better paying) position she thought I could do. So she was going to set up an interview with the manager of that department by Wednesday of this week. Well, she said "if you dont hear anything by Wednesday call me and I'll set it up for you"

My current job, I turned in my two weeks notice on Christmas Day. My last scheduled days to work were this week though, (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights). I work a VERY physically and mentally stressful job, and I knew that I was going to have an interview this week (for both this job and a different one). I wrote a (non harsh) letter to my scheduler saying that I would be unable to work this week because I have to be somewhere during the daytime that is neccessary for a future job... (aka, right after a stressful 12 hour night- something that could screw me over mentally during the interview) There are other candidates for this job as well so I was afraid they could get it, and i better not reschedule.

My only problem is I dont know if they called my employer yet and if they do, I'm scared theyre going to say a professional version of "yeah she left early before her two weeks was up, so I wouldnt hire her"

I was otherwise an above average employee there, a hard worker, and liked among every coworker and supervisor. I may have made a huge mistake by leaving early...but what's done is done. Will I ever be able to get another job? :(

Update:

That makes me feel better, but I am so nervous right now! :|

Giving a 2 week notice is an old custom that is seldom practiced anymore. It has no bearing on your future employment. Employers are most concerned with Drug or Alcohol use, Criminal record, and (recently) Citizenship status. If you have no issues with these then the only credentials needed for an entry level job are Good Health, Adequate Education, and a Pleasant Smile! Good Luck!
