Wireless taking longer to boot up after hibernate?
Recently, my ISP replaced my cable modem with an newer one. Since they installed it, I noticed that my laptop takes a bit longer to connect to a web page right after the computer comes out of hibernate....It says it couldn't connect. It always eventually connects after a minute, but it used to be good to go right after I click on my browser (Firefox). It's not terribly annoying, but it's just something that is different since getting the new modem. I was just wondering why it would be doing this? It also happens to my girlfriends laptop too, so it's not an individual laptop issue.
Is see what you mean. My laptop is pretty new and I see that is supports N. But when I look at my internet connection (which network I'm connected to) it says radio type: 802.11g. So I know my laptop and modem are capable of "N". Is there a way to change the radio type??

It's probably just the way the new ISP device works. You haven't provided a lot of information here, so I'll take a few guesses:
The ISP device is a combination cable modem, router, and Wi-Fi access point, the new one is capable of 802.11N, and the old one was only capable of 802.11G. I'll also guess that your laptops are 802.11G.
It's taking longer to connect because the router is trying to negotiate a connection at the higher "N" speed, and has to time-out and fail before falling back to the lower "G" speed.
I'm just guessing, of course.
