  • Galaxy S4 wifi authentication error...?

My S4 suddenly isn't connecting to a public wifi router when it was earlier in the day. My ipad though connects fine to this router. No changes were made to the phone, it's just randomly not connecting now. The phone does connect to a different router, just not the one in question...is it just a temporary issue between my phone and the router?

  • Weather agency's predicting opposing weather?

Why would one weather agency predict different weather than another? For instance, one might say mostly sunny with a 20% chance for rain for a given day and another would say 80% chance for thunderstorms for that same day...Does it just come down to the skill/knowledge of meteorologists?

  • 350 SB Breather Filter Question?

I'm not all that familiar with breather filters, so bare with me! I bought a 1972 Nova a while back. The engine is a 350 out of a 1993 Chevy truck. When I bought the car, it had a breather tube coming out of the driver side valve cover. This tube was just going out into open air under the hood. A few people told me that it shouldn't really be like that and I should put a filter on it. Here's a photo (tube is circled in red):

    http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa436/zeppelin...

Today, I cut down the tube and slipped a breather filter onto it. Does this look legit? Like I said I'm not totally familiar with these. To me, it's basically doing the same job, just now it'll be more difficult for debris/water to get in.

  • What was the 80's music video with black background and moving arms and legs?

It was a weird video with black background and arms and legs dancing around with no bodies. They weren't actually dancing.....more like moving back and forth. It was in the mid to later 80's... Sorry I don't have more details!

  • Running speed tests...really sporadic?

Hey all, I'm running internet speed tests from two different sites, Speed Test.net and Speakeasy.net. My internet seems perfectly fine right now (just had my ISP install a new DOCSIS 3.0 gateway today), but I was just curious as to what speeds I'm getting wirelessly. I have the 30mbps speed package with my ISP by the way.

On one test of the download speed, on either site, It'll shoot up to over 50 mbps, then on the next test it'll be as low at 10 mbps or will maybe show over 20....On upload speeds, on both speed test sites, it's taking forever to come back with a result, and will eventually time out. Both sites come back with an "error" in calculating upload speeds. What's up with this? This is something new since the new gateway modem was installed....Like I said, everything seems fine, but these calculations are kind of crazy.

  • Modem/router reason for slow/choppy internet?

    Hey all,

I recently had my modem/router changed by my ISP (Charter Cable) with a "newer" one. The original service call I had was for them to change my cable box, but when the guy saw what modem I had, he decided to change that too....

Anyway, since he installed it, the internet can be slow/choppy at times. Also, when the computer is first started or comes out of hibernate, it take a good amount of time for the wireless signal to come through. I contacted Charter via online chat, and they said that the modem that was installed is not the right one for the internet package I have, which is their 30 mbps package. It's a DOCSIS 2.0 modem. They said to swap it out for a DOCSIS 3.0 one at my local Charter office. I also see that my network adapter supports 802.11n, but when I hover my mouse over my local connection, it says 802.11g...Hopefully a DOCSIS 3.0 modem will be 802.11n? I don't know much about this kind of stuff so sorry if I'm confusing lol. Was the person I chatted with correct in saying that the DOCSIS 3.0 modem should fix my issues? Thanks for any help!

  • Wireless taking longer to boot up after hibernate?

Recently, my ISP replaced my cable modem with an newer one. Since they installed it, I noticed that my laptop takes a bit longer to connect to a web page right after the computer comes out of hibernate....It says it couldn't connect. It always eventually connects after a minute, but it used to be good to go right after I click on my browser (Firefox). It's not terribly annoying, but it's just something that is different since getting the new modem. I was just wondering why it would be doing this? It also happens to my girlfriends laptop too, so it's not an individual laptop issue.

  • How does pre-ordering an item actually work?

My question refers to pre-ordering an item online. Let's say a highly anticipated CD or video game comes out on October 11th, 2011. You pre-order it online a couple of months prior.... Does the CD/game ship out on Oct. 11th or is that the day you get it in the mail (depending on holidays/weekends)? I heard you actually get it that day in the mail, but this doesn't seems all that plausible given mail delivery isn't exactly dead-on. I've never pre-ordered online and was just curious to how it worked.

  • Medal of Honor key to unlock BF3 Beta?

    Hey all,

When Medal of Honor first came out, I bought the limited edition for PS3 which had the pass key to unlock the Battlefield 3 Beta. It was so long ago, I not exactly certain if I registered it....If I log onto EA.com though, I see that Medal of Honor is listed under "Games". So that means it must be registered, right? Does anyone recall if the game asks you to enter the code when you start up the game for the first time? I'm just wondering all of this in case I missed my mark to register the beta code. I'm almost positive I did it tho.....

  • Can running on 1080i cause screen tearing on a 720p native game?

I just got a new TV this week (a 55" Sony Bravia 55Ex723). I've been playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 since it first came out, but on a 42" Bravia. I noticed on the new TV that there seemed to be some "screen tearing" which I never noticed before on the old TV. Maybe it's because the screen is obviously bigger now or I thought maybe because this TV is more advanced...

I'm not all that familiar with resolutions, so I did some research online. I read that it's often recommended to play games, especially shooters, at 720p since they are faster moving. So, I switched my PS3 to 720p from 1080i and decided to check the game again. I think the screen tearing isn't really noticable now....it's hard to tell though. I see that Bad Company 2's native resolution is 720p. Could having the PS3 set to 1080i have caused the screen tearing?

  • Depositing checks by mail?

What exactly do you do when mailing a check to your bank to be deposited? I assume you can't just throw checks into an envelope and expect the bank representative to know what to do with them. Do you just have to sign them and put your account number on the back? Is that it?
