What do you think are the critical attributes of a good, worthwhile person?

Are kindness and integrity enough? Or is the capacity to contribute to the common good through one's career essential as well? What about one's capacity to be financially independent? What about being interesting? Having the capacity to effectively advocate for onesself? Other things?

What are the bottom line attributes that one most meet to be a good, worthwhile person?

Many years ago my wonderful Dad (May he rest in peace) told me:

"Son, there are two types of people in this world - and I don't mean men and women. There are Givers and Takers. Do yourself a big favor: Stick with the Givers.”

AND I’m adding the following to what he told me:

There are absolutely two things in this world I won’t tolerate:

DON’T lie to me. No matter how much it might hurt, tell me the truth.

DON’T steal from me. When you steal it tells me and probably A WHOLE LOT of others one thing: that’s all YOU are worth.

As far as the other attributes you added to your Q are concerned, those are attributes you have to honestly weigh for yourself.

Just as important as what you asked, is the following:

“What am I bringing and giving to our relationship?”

THEN you add what are important to you.

Of course, there’s always the answer or alternative which satisfies only you: “No!” or “Nothing!” THEN you walk away.

Thanks for asking your Q! I think I did my best to answer it.
