How can you tell if a website is legit or just a scam...?
Yes, I know stupid question.
But I can't tell anymore. They make websites look so real these days, and that's all you hear on the news that people are being ripped off buying things off of websites that don't exist.
I found this particular website for discounted cosmetics, and before I buy I want to make sure its a legit one.
Here's the website if you're interested: http://www.buymebeauty.com/
So how can you tell? Any advice is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

I haven't heard anything about buying off websites being a problem, just phishing from websites that pretend to be something they are not.
I know you don't want to put a credit card number in unless its a https site, because it is not secure otherwise.
But I almost always buy from sites I know like Amazon.

If you aren't sure weather a story is legit or not, then ask around. Something as simple as "Is [insert sight name] legit?" may be able to get you a lot of answers.
Because I was planning on buying some Lolita clothing from a sight called "Milanoo" but it turns out, they aren't legit, the clothing are of poor quality, etc.

It looks pretty legitimate and has a lot of facebook likes, but I dont buy anything online unless its something I know and trust, like amazon or a stores website or one that people I know well have used before. Amazon usually has great deals for things like that.

Sorry, I do not click links. I am sure you understand. I do know one thing from getting email phished and hacked in my yahoo mail- certificates are supposed to match the web address and such. The internet is such a horribly deceitful place. You cannot trust anything or anyone. People hack into your info, steal your identity, steal your money, etc... It is easier to go buy stuff at the store. I learned a real valuable lesson after porn was sent through my email, by who knows who, and it was sent to every single person I have ever emailed. People on here, teachers from my sons school, our Reverend :/

Get the title of the corporation they provide, and do a google seek on it. If its a rip-off, you'll be able to often see 1000s of hits on court cases approximately the website online. Do your study, that is the quality method!
