Why are American Christians so ignorant about religion?
...even their OWN religion... when compared to ANYBODY else?
So.. so far, the answers are either defending the ignorance (Seriously) or the ever-popular "sure, some of 'em are... but NOT ME"...
Too funny.

Quite frankly, those are questions that anybody with an education or knowledge of popular culture should know. Much of American culture has become very self-centered, and most of American news focuses on America, not on the rest of the world. People spend so much time paying attention to reality TV and celebrity gossip that it is no wonder each generation is becoming progressively more and more ignorant. Many American Christians ARE ignorant - I'm not going to sugarcoat it. But there are also many that are not ignorant. Making sweeping generalizations does not help anyone.

actual there is no basic answer to no matter if the U. S. is a Christian united states or no longer. many human beings got here the following to coach their faith (which develop into in lots of cases a style of Christianity) All religions are equivalent in u.s., so technically you may call it any style of religion united states. faith develop into and is major contained in the U. S., and is amazingly secure. u.s. is a religious united states, besides the indisputable fact that it is not a theocracy. there is no "message from God" directing our each and every stream. Many presidents search for guidence from God, yet they do no longer have a "Godseat" or in spite of to take messages from God. a minimum of none that i recognize of! i'm impartial on the problem of religion, neither a believer nor a nonbeliever. It doesn't difficulty me in any respect at the same time as a president talks of divine inspriration. Its gotta be just about as good as using the 8 ball.

Because they want control. They are ignorant to the facts of what is true because they don't want to be overpowered by the forces that made them. Religion was born through the Canaanite man (blonde hair, blue eye, whit people). The Romans stole knowledge from the Ancient Egyptians (which is what the roman god prometheus was known for).

They believe all you need is Jesus, no further exploration is needed beyond that.
To me, Christianity is how NOT to be spiritual, even a relationship with Jesus misses the whole point of spirituality.,

Atheist here. Got 10/10 questions right. Not patting my back too hard since they were pretty easy

Because they never chose Christianity. They never had a choice. They were born into it because that's the religion their parents were. They're fervent in their belief about Christianity because they've known no other. Any other religion they've "heard of" is obviously wrong because it's not their own!
Only when someone looks into other religions besides their own will he discover that his is not much different than that of others. He thinks, "Obviously not all can be right, so which one is right? Oh my God! None!"
Viola. Welcome to the club-- a new non-believer.

You could have left off the last two words in your original question.
