Tip of my tongue! Word help?

Trying to find a word that I can't think of, my use for it would be:

An unconcious movement that a retain person does.

Like a limp or a facial expression or a hand movemnt that a person does a lot without meaning to.

I think it starts with an a, because for some reason I keep wanting to say aneurysm....

Update:

Tics or touretes would make since, I'm looking for something that isn't necessarily a medical condition, a movemnt learned over time.

Like the main actor in Lie To Me walks likes he's sort of drunk, but it is a learned unconcious movement.

Can't think of one that starts with an A at the moment, but the first word that comes to mind is a tic. (Or spasm, abnormality, jerk)

    a habit?
