Underwear for diabetic men?
Is there such a thing as loose fitting, elastic free underwear for men who have diabetes? Diabetes has caused me to have skin issues on my face and scalp. For me the snugness of underwear at the waist and especially at the groin causes an irritation that must be medicated. At times I feel like I'd rather be wearing a loose fitting cheesecloth mini skirt as underwear. Even boxer shorts tend to 'ride' up into the crotch creating red, sensitive areas. Is there special underwear available for people like me? Maybe someone should create such a product.
My doctor has advised that I should bathe only every 3 days. So, after a lifetime of daily showers I now shower as directed. But I do keep washed and clean. The bacterial infection you describe has been called a yeast infection by my doctor. The medication I use prevents infection but not the discomfort. As for letting it all hang out; that could work while sleeping, but could prove distasteful while cooking and worse while shopping, (even at Walmart).

I don't do underwear..
And you must attack the rashes with determination. Before I had the same problem. And only treated it till it disappeared. It didn't work. I had to keep it up for a long time . Now if I notice anything out of the order I start 1% Hydrocortisone over the counter..It works very well. When I went to the doctor he would only give me a script for a small tube, Well I had rash over half my body.. That was not enough. But great for him..
Take care

There are thin silk long underwear that might be more comfortable, silk is comfortable in both hot and cold weather. You can also get moisturizers instead of bathing infrequently but it takes time to spread the moisturizer. Letting it all hang out is dangerous while grilling bacon.

I am a diabetic but I never got irritation as you talked about. You must call on your doctor . You should take bath every day & soap & powder properly. Fungal infection is an imminent factor if you don't cleanse properly.

I had the same issue when i was first diagnosed, but when you get your sugars under control you probably won't get them as often. I haven't in the 2 years I've been on insulin.
