Should parents be able to choose the gender of their children?
Do you think it's right or wrong? And why?

I think it should only be for genetic medical reasons, like when a life-threatening disorder is carried on a y-chromosome.
Practically speaking, I think that if everyone chose the gender of their children there would be no impact of the global saturation of either sex, but I do think there would be less children.

Wrong. Especially with to gender preference in countries like India. Yes north America is more 50/50 when it comes to wanting to have a boy or girl. There is way too much controversy In the rest of the world. I think it's meant to be a chance thing and people should accept that. There are certain things that are out of our control

I think if youre using a method like Shettles to try to get a specific gender thats fine. Youre not hurting anyone. Its wishful, hopeful thinking/ planning.
However I think if youre already pregnant I dont think you should be allowed to terminate just because it has the wrong genitals. That IS wrong.
and I agree that if youre trying to get a specific gender via IVF or any other procedure that it should only be done to avoid a possible genetic problem

It's wrong. It won't be as fun finding out the sex of the baby when the parents go to the sonographer. I'd rather go to the Dr with my husband and find out what I'm havoc rather than thinking "oh yea its a not I already knew from the moment I got pregnant".... Theres no excitement

definitely wrong. why would a mother want to choose whether she has a son or daughter? surely she would love it whatver gender. science is f***ed up how it tries to play God with designer babies. when i got pregnant i wanted a daughter, but had a son and i am so happy that i did . I am glad i didnt get the choice, because i loved him for being my son

Very wrong, science needs to stop playing god! You should love your child no matter what gender they are. You get what you get. Love, cherish, and be grateful. Everything happens for a reason.

If parents have their mind set on a specific gender, then they can adopt.
