What do you native Koreans (Koreans born in the Korean peninsula) think about us Westernized, Korean-Americans?
I'm an American of Korean heritage, and I'm probably more Americanized than any other Asian-American. I've been living in California my entire life. I love musical genres that were originated in the States (metal, certain hip-pop, etc). I also like to eat American dishes more than homemade Korean dishes (I'm not just referring to Kimchi). I wear clothes that reflect the current style (skinny jeans, statement T's, and Nike shoes). I have much respect and pride for the American lifestyle, and I get angry if someone foreign douche bag bashes on my country. This goes also goes to Koreans who are anti-American.

Nothing really. If they don't speak Korean then I would feel we have nothing in common.
You sound overly defensive. There is anti anything in Korea.
Anti- North Korea
Anti- China
Anti- Japan
Anti- United States
When President George Bush came to Korea just before his term ended, there were two groups of people on the street. One side that welcomed George Bush and another side protesting calling him "War Criminal" (no offense, I don't mind George Bush. He gets that name all around the world)
I'm not anti U.S. I'm definately anti- North Korea. And I look at China on the bitter side but not necessarily anti-China.
Yes, Korean society is harsh on American soldiers. I would not be part of this just let you know.
North Korea attack and kill our soldiers, not too many people care. Except the families of those soldiers.
American soldiers drive over two Korean girls with a tank by accident, people light up candles and protest on street.
But Americans should stop saying We saved you. You should be greatful.
Let's be fair. It's all politics. They helped us because they wanted to protect Japan from falling under communism. Not that they had particular interest in protecting Korea alone.
Plus, U.S benefited from doing trade with Korea. I feel South Korea paid off their debt.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt made agreement with Japan that United States will recognize Japanese annexation of Korea.
Also President Richard Nixon tried to withdraw all troops from Korea.
President Park Chung Hee stopped him by threatening to build nuclear missiles.
Most of the Americans wish they hadn't protected Korea when it involved their families. Most of them don't want their government to get involved because of tax payers' money. Why take it so personal that somebody is ungreatful to you? People do what's best for themselves anyway. That's how it's been throughout the history around the world. It looks like American government favors corporations over your people. Since when were the Americans entitled a fully pledged respect?
Source(s): I'm Korean Canadian. Canada is my country now. I chose to live here but I wish Korea will be strong enough to defend themselves. Russia, China, Japan, North Korea... They all gave my country alot of trouble. I hope those who dare to invade again will be annilhilated.
