No. As long as you go to a licensed professional, who wears gloves and uses a sterile needle, you will be fine. DO NOT do it yourself. That will cause you unwelcomed pain, and will put you @ high risk for an infection. Clean the pierced site twice a day for a few weeks to prevent infection. If it becomes infected (red, swollen, hot, tender, or producing puss) see a doctor.

Um, no? Have had my ear pierced for 13 years now, only issue you might have is an infection but its not based on sex

There is no physical difference in the health affects of piercings between genders. Mentally however, there is slight.

other than it could get infected, no. and that's based on how you look after it.
