My suggestion would be to move in with a close friend or relative and find employment. Doing what you can to support yourself and the baby is always the first course of action.
Applying for welfare for the time being may be a necessity, but it should always be a goal to work to get off assistance. You can being working towards that goal by taking a job and saving money as you can.
You probably won't get much from welfare as far as money goes, but Medicaid, WIC and food stamps are some things that can help for now. However I fully believe working (even if it's 2 jobs) and bringing home a hard earned paycheck is far more rewarding and much better than the government's welfare, even if the government route is easier. But until you can do that, assistance is there to help.

to be honest not that much...you might can get TANF for about 300-500 a month but if you need assistance with housing, utility assistance, food, medical exc...you can get all of that as well... until you are able to get on your feet. The Gov. will help you as long as you are willing to help yourself make a better life for you and your baby
Good Luck
