what do you consider "handmade"?

I am confused on the word. some products like leather, handbags, and clothes claimed being 'handmade' while they are obviously made from a sewing machine. because they put the hands on a sewing machine?

"Handmade" is now being used in the ready to wear industry to indicate something that was made by a single person, as opposed to batch sewn where one person does all the zippers, the next person does nothing but pockets, etc., etc.

Hand made can just mean, not made in a factory conveyor type thing.

sewing machine, or needle and thread.
