If the Apostle Peter is the Roman church's . . .?

first Pope, why did the Romans kill him as well as all the other Apostles with the exception of John? Even her own literature teaches that it was the Romans that put the Apostle of the Lord to death.

Update:

Your answers are great, but I already know that the Romans that killed the Apostles came way before the Roman Catholic church was put into place. And yes, I said "Roman" Catholic church. The church is in "Rome" and it started from Rome and it is still called the "Roman Catholic church." So to say that it is anything other is just not truth. Oh, I do not believe that the Apostle Peter was the Roman church's Pope or anything else to them. I believe that when the Lord Yeshua/Jesus asked three times if Peter loved Him and three times Peter answered yes, and even though it was Peter who denied the Lord three times - I still believe that he would never have ever disrespected his Master by completely disobeying His command to never address anyone on earth as Father . . ."

Update 2:

I just found it rather interesting that although the Roman Catholic church was founded long after the deaths of the Lord's Apostles and the "Roman Emperor Constantine declared himself to be 'Christian' and later the council declared that Christianity would be the state religion that a Roman would want to be a part of a religion that they had of course in their pagan days - lol murdered many of the actual founders of the following of the Lord.

Update 3:

God Bless you all and thank you so much for your great answers:-D

There is no such thing in all of God's word as a pope. It is not of God. Certainly Peter was not any pope, as he had to learn some things from precious brother, Paul.

He said, some of Paul's teachings were hard to get, but he finally got it. Paul had the message of GRACE, and at first, all Peter knew was LAW.

BUT FINALLY PETER AND ALL THE REST GOT IT Grace or hell.

No romans church is not of god and this is why the set up their own little book, of catholicism. They know they cannot find any of their teachings in God's word...so whose word/church, is it? could not be of God.

He never said pope. priest, confession to man, worship of mary, or hail mary, or rosary, altar boys, and on and on it goes. Nothing they teach is in Scripture, to it cannot be of God. PERIOD.

Peter was the first pope of the Christian church. The bible says Peter was the cornerstone. The idea of catholic, all encompassing, becoming Catholic, and then Orthodox Catholic and Roman Catholic separating was much later on. So at the time most Romans were not Christian, but eventually a group settled the church there and became the best know Catholics in this part of the world.

Congratulations: you have found one of the many flaws in the conspiracy theories that claim the Catholic Church is the Roman Empire, rather than Christian. Indeed, that story doesn't make any sense: the first few centuries of the Catholic Church involve it being persecuted by the Romans. This is perfectly in accord with normal history, but clearly doesn't match the Trail of Blood/Two Babylons style account.

You also see why certain people have a vested interest in referring to the Catholic Church as 'the Roman church': it confuses you, as it makes you think it was established by Romans. It wasn't.

    .

Peter was never the pope (or even the leader) of the Roman Church.

Same principle with any organisation: take off the head and the body will fall.

Many attempts were made to kill John too; poison and boiling being 2 I know.

Peter was not the RCC first pope...Peter was killed by the Romans abt 66AD. The Roman Catholic church was not formed until abt 325AD....the math does not work.

The Romans were not Christians at that time they were pagans.
