ps3 to computer monitor?

Hey guys, I have an LCD monitor that only has a d-sub line going to the back (The blue plug). I have heard that you need a dvi to hdmi cable to connect ps3 and LCD monitor. So my question is.. is there anyway to hook up the dvi cable to the back of my computer than somehow have that run throught the cable connecting my pc and monitor?

    You can get an adapter that goes from HDMI to VGA for about $100. It would be better to update the monitor to one with a HDMI port.
