Disney World vs. Disney Cruise?
Hello,
my 6 year old was recently diagnosed with cancer (Wilm's Tumor). We haven't begun treatment yet, but we know what's to come. She'll have 5 weeks of daily radiation and 30 weeks of chemo. Yesterday was her birthday and she had to spend it in the hospital 1 week after being diagnosed while her twin sister and brothers celebrated back home (we had a special time for her here though and she had a blast). I want to start planning a trip for her and make the reservation ASAP! I want it to be special. She loves Disney and the Disney Princesses, so the trip needs to be Disney related. We've been to Disney, but she was about 3 and didn't enjoy it like a 6 year old would. We went to Disney Cruise before she was born with our 2 boys, so we know how wonderful it is. I don't want to tell her yet, so I can't make her choose because she'll know somethings up. We'll end up going to both anyways because I want to have one trip to one of the two after she's done with radiation and then one when she's done with chemo. Thankfully we can afford it this year. I know about Make a Wish, but where she is dying to go since she saw it on a commercial on Disney Channel before all this is to the Disney resort in Hawaii, and that we can't afford, so if that's still her wish in the future (we'll save that BIG special trip for when she's gone through all the rough stuff) then we'll go with that then with Make a Wish. Any of you have any idea which to go with? Just want some advice, it's so hard to chose!!
If it helps, we have two boys(10 and 8) and two girls (Twins; both 6)
Thank you :)

I havnt been to either but we are planning to go to Disney World next summer, from my experiences with cancer, she'll be pretty wiped once shes gone through all of that chemo, and Disney World has more Princess things then the Disney Cruise, so I think you should go to Disney World first, while she has the energy to run around and she can see the princesses, and then once its over she can recover on the cruise, where she can relax and lay back more.

I would choose Disney World for the kids because it is more fun for children! Cruises are great, but Disney World is spectacular! Its such an exciting atmosphere and you really feel the Disney Magic. You get to see all the fantastic shows and its non stop entertainment.I feel like Disney World us what people think of and I can't stress enough how much fun it! No matter what age you are, the excitement is overwhelming! I love gaving all the characters and the parks are packed to the brim with incredible rides and breathtaking shows. Make sure to spend at least one day in each park. Your daughter sounds so deserving and you seem like wonderful parents! Your daughter is in my prayers!

I personally would choose Disney World. However, given the situation, I would talk to Disney about it first. They will make special accommodations for you and your family. Disney World can be very overwhelming on a busy day. There a lot of lines and rude people. Try to choose your vacation during the off season to avoid this problem! Good luck with her therapy!

You also might want to contact Disney about it. They sometimes do special things in situations like this or put you in contact with people that help do those things. Not sure who to contact there, but I know they've done in the past like giving free passes to the parks and that kind of thing.
Also this website lists numerous charities that do different things...
