Good beach get away ideas on east coast in mid March?
My birthday is in mid March and my girlfriend wants us to go to the beach for 4-5 days then. She's talking about Myrtle Beach and that's ok with me but I'd like to go somewhere a little warmer at that time. We've gone to Charleston and Savannah numerous times and I enjoy them a lot too. But I'm wondering about other places to go maybe further south that would be warmer. Any suggestions?
It will be during St Patrick's Day and I know there will be a parade and other events going on in Myrtle Beach that will be fun. Other beach towns you know of having events centered around St Patrick's Day that you've attended or know about that are fun?
I was wondering about Panama City Beach or other places along the Florida pan handle. Do you have any favorite places that would be warm at that time of year? Unique hotels, locations, or any other info from places you've been would be very helpful. Thanks so much!

Panama City Beach is a great place to visit! There will be a lot going on including Spring Break festivities. A lot of the restaurants and bars also celebrate St. Patrick's day with parties and green beer. The weather will be fairly warm but some nights may be a little chilly. The beaches are beautiful there and your girlfriend will love it. A hotel that I recommend you stay at is the Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort! They are a beachfront hotel on the west end. Very close to Pier Park which has shopping, specialty stores, restaurants like Margaritaville and ***** Last Resort. I have never been to Myrtle Beach but my choice would be Panama City Beach!!!

The panhandle is a good idea. Easy drive based off your previous destinations. Panama City Beach will be a huge party. Check out http://panamacityhotelscheap.com/ for hotels and attractions. Another good option would be Destin. It's similar to PCB but a little more upscale. Why not get a beach house? Check out http://destinvacationdeals.com/Cheap_Destin_Houses... for details. There is a great Irish Pub called McGuires that has an awesome St Pattys event. Hope this helps!

In March, anywhere in SC could be plenty warm to enjoy a trip to the beach or too cold to even want to go. Either way, the water is still going to be freezing at that time. If you are wanting to SWIM, I would suggest visiting a southern Florida beach. I have friends who live near Pensacola and have been on the beach this week and found it very enjoyable.
Savannah has the biggest St. Patrick's Day celebration in the country, so if you want to be involved with that I would suggest Savannah.

Wrightsville coastline, NC and the Outer Banks of NC, particularly the Kitty Hawk and Kill devil Hills areas. Myrtle coastline, SC is cool too. i'm from NC, and there are some particularly great seashores there!
