Does anyone know where the rest of the chicken goes?

It seems that chicken wings are great sellers. Many eateries specialize in wings; hot wings, medium wings, dry wings. Super bowl Sunday will soon be here and wings are second only to pizza for those Super Bowl parties. Where is the market for the rest of the chicken, and is it a market large enough to utilize all those wingless chickens?

Yes. Before hot wings were invented, the wings were probably disguarded or sold cheaply as the low grade part of the chicken. The rest of the chicken is most likely cut and sold into the different sections to supermarkets or meat packing places. Breasts are removed and packaged, thighs are disassembled and packeted, etc. I doubt much of the chicken is wasted, and most likely restaurants are getting bags of just the wings, rather than laboring to remove the wings.
