can someone help me find my router password ?

i just got a kindle fire for christmas, and i"ve been trying to figure out how to connect to wifi.i just cant seem to figure out the wifi password. every time i put in a password it says its connected but it would have an x by the wifi signal . i went to the kindle support on how to connect to wifi but it was no help . all it said was if there is an x by the signal then you are in a wifi hotspotbut really im at home. i also tried calling my router service provider but the password they gave me was also wrong. if anyone can help i would gladly appreciate it thanks.

    Do you actually have your own router, or are you assuming that the wifi signal you are seeing on your Kindle is yours to use.

    Also, a WiFi hotspot is the same thing as being in range of your router. Are you over-thinking this situation?

    If it really is your router, then ask the person that set it up originally to give you the password.

    It would have been great if you had provided the make an manufacturer of your router. That would have allowed us to give specific information as to how to reset your router to factory defaults. Maybe you can add that as additional information to your question?

    Reset the router by holding the reset pin on the back until lights flash, then release.
