How can I earn money for ice skating? Or how to earn money?

Thanks! Basically self explanitory, but if you read my other question (PLEASEE answer!) I explained that unless I can find the money for 30 min private lessons each week, I'm going to have to choose whether I want to focus on MIF or freestyle elements... Thanks. You can't work at my rink until your 16.

Oh and I'm 14 years old. :)

Thanks! Please help mee!

Update:

Sorry about the wrong section... its a natural habit to put it in ice skating :p

Thanks, but as some people said no one hires till 16 at the very minimum. :(

But babysitting and other ideas were great. :)

Tutoring (I'm planning on starting to tutor as a part-time job soon so I can start helping to save for college)

    Small business

    Fast food restaurant

Helping at parent's work (? My friend gets paid to help sort the mail into mailboxes for each employee and other office type jobs at her mom's work)

Try asking in another category, this question really doesn't belong in this category.

K, it is not that simple in the US. It is legal to work at 14-15, the problem is that almost nowhere actually hires at 14-15. With the current economy, most jobs, even minimum wage ones, go to adults. Not even babysitting is left to teens- classifieds are absolutely plastered with unemployed, credentialed adults (i.e. child experience/education) looking for babysitting jobs. Teens just don't have a chance if they don't have connections.

I know people in your same situation, for the reasons I cited above. You could try asking just for money on your birthday and Christmas, and ask your parents if there's any way to save money, such as giving up your cell phone minutes, expensive foods or whatnot.

As for your other question, I see no reason why you can't alternate week to week. Sure, you'll progress slower that way, but it's still possible. Maybe you could split it 3/4 or 3/5 so moves have a larger emphasis.

K is absolutely right; a job is the best way to earn money, and places like that are actually excellent places to work. They're team operations, so they look quite good on resumes.

You can also do jobs like babysitting, dog walking, pet sitting/plant watering/mail collecting for neighbours that are on vacation, snow shovelling, etc. Or you could get a part time job in a shop that's close to home.

Having a job when you're younger is a great way to develop responsibility and appreciation for how hard your parents work. I got a job at 13, and worked the summers that I was fourteen and fifteen.

14 years old is old enough to get a job. Go hand your resume/CV in at McDonalds, KFC, fast food joints, supermarkets etc.

EDIT: lol at the two thumbs-down. Isn't "get a job" the obvious answer? I know in Australia you can get a job at the abovementioned places at 14.

EDIT2: Wow, six thumbs down because I made a practical suggestion. Listen, people, I am NOT American, I don't know what the job market is like in the US, the question was "how can I earn money" and I answered with what I knew, which is that legally you can work at 14.

well no one will hire you unless your 16 because they dont wanna deal with work permits. if you cant afford to skate then quit before you become too attatched to the sport. If you wanna get any better than fs6 than your going to be spending 300-600 dollars a month.period.
