P4 CPU 4 pin power supply?

I'm fitting a Pentium 4 mainboard into an older case that does not have the CPU power supply. The standard 2 yellow and 2 black wires. 2 x 12v and 2 x ground.

Just to be sure, is there any problem with jacking the power from a free IDE power supply?

And can I successfully group the 2 yellow together and the 2 black together or should all 4 wires have their unique supply?

Or is there any other problem or caution with doing this?

Dude why bother. You can buy a cheap 15-20 dollar power supply that will work just fine. Why rip into everything and risk damage to the system by rigging it?

Umm, I think they all they be left as indivisual cables and not rolled together .. Plus confirm with multimeter that u are connecting right wired to right place .. Coz u might end up putting ur cpu on fire .. So just be sure abt right voltages .. And i guess using an ide power cable will work ..

    Good luck

Scroll down the web site on your power grant unit to the Connectors Window. The P4 MB is the plug you utilize not the removable area. I see no project in any respect. you do not decide on an adapter.
