Yes.

Each scare follows the same pattern:

1. identify a potential hazard

2. come up with a study that shows some correlation (however weak)

3. apply the 'false cause' fallacy to assert a causal relationship

4. apply the precautionary principle to justify drastic action to protect against the 'hazard', no matter what the cost/benefit ratio

5. later, when the robust science comes out to show that the correlation was weak, or spurious, or the causation was never established, or the hazard associated with a realistic dose was insignificant, ignore the science

6. go on to another scare and start again.

Did you know that Alar turned out to be a lower risk than tap water? And the DDT ban has cost millions of lives, mostly children?

The precautionary principle is a bust. It leads to more lives lost than are saved, by squandering resources on miniscule risks at the expense of more important hazards. Each $13 million in lost income results in one more statistical death, due to economic-induced mortality. Any intervention that costs more than $13 million per life saved actually makes us less safe, not more.

That will never happen. The only thing that can cool the Earth significantly is volcanic activity. Scientists will recognize this, if and when it happens and that it is only temporary. Fossil fuel propagandists will milk this to tell us that burning fossil fuels is good because it cancels the cooling.

If in fact we are emerging from an ice age that means (ignoring for the moment all the armloads of printouts and gigabytes of Datasets) we are WARMING and have been for several thousand years humps and bumps in the charts due to Sunspots and solar flares notwithstanding. We even had the "Little Ice age" due to thermohaline anomalies in the 1300-1700 era, definitely not "warming." The Vostok Co2 ice core analyses and subsequent Tschumi-Stauffer climate studies show clearly we have cold hot cycles and their accompanying Co2 variations on 100,000 year intervals. Milankovich elliptical orbit effects are causing these Hot/Cold cycles. The integration of sunspot and solar flare contribution to climate change just adds more humps and bumps to the graphs and more snakes to the prediction barrel. I provide a climate OVERVIEW reaching back over 6 millions of years, but am faced with arguments based on data going back less than half a million years (the Gore fraud), obscuring the long term picture exposed by accepted scientific climate research. I want to know how man can have such a profound effect on the climate in only the past 300 years when normal climate cycles established 6 Million years ago are proceeding as scientifically predicted, the projected temperatures and Co2 values in the mean. That man may be contributing to this climate change is obvious, but the EXTENT to which he is contributing is most assuredly in question. No one to date has been able to address that issue with any degree of Certainty, just a lot of unfounded opinion and fear mongering. One scientific source sets the percentage of mans contribution at less than 3%, casting some pretty serious doubts that any changes we make in our energy usage will cause any major change in existing Climate conditions.
