I'm looking at a vacuum pump which specifies maximum 10 pascals vacuum. I don't know what that means. I'm familiar with inches Hg. Or for comparison, what is the maximum possible vacuum in pascals?

10 Pa is a small amount of pressure. It equals 0.003 inch of Mercury, or 0.00145 PSI
I suspect you mean 10 kPa, not 10 Pa
10 kPa = 1.45 PSI = 3 inch Hg
Max vacuum is equal to atmospheric pressure, at least it is here on earth, and that is
101000 Pa or 14.6 PSI or 29.8 inch Hg.

Pascal in fundamental units is the same as a Force per Unit area.. the definition of Pressure. or normal stress P=F/A
so..Pascal = Newton/squared metre = N/m^2
you can find equivalent values in mmH20 or Hg
